Rules and Options of Planned Improv Piecing with Sarah Goer

June 18 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us for a lecture by Sarah Goer: Rules and Options of Planned Improv Piecing.

Sarah likes options… but she also likes a plan. In this lecture and trunk show, Sarah will discuss how she uses her organized nature to develop rules for herself which drive her Planned Improv quilt design work. She will share work in a series and show how she iterates on a design. Sarah will explain how she develops a formula for her project. She will leave us with specific ideas of how to develop a set of rules to guide our improv piecing.

About Sarah Goer:

Sarah Goer is an artist and educator. Based in San Jose, California, she learned to sew as a child and was drawn to the color and geometry of quilting after college. As a former middle school math teacher, Sarah combines her eleven years of classroom experience with her nearly two decades of quilting experience to bring clear instruction to her quilt students. She inspires quilters to create their own unique designs by helping them to build their improv piecing skills in a fun and playful way.
You can find Sarah at www.sarahgoerquilts.com and in Instagram at sarahgoerquilts.

This will be a hybrid meeting: in-person at St Anne’s and broadcast via Zoom, link available on the Members Only Page.
Nonmembers may pay a $5 guest fee at the door or get a ticket for zoom coming soon.
