QUILT San Francisco 2019
Show Wrap Up & Ribbon Winners

We did it! Together, we created a fabulous quilt show. Of course I feel tremendous gratitude to my co-chair, Becky Simpson (who is now on vacation), the steering committee of wonderful leaders, and to each of you. As quilt-makers, we set a very high bar and the quality of our design and construction skill continues to generate conversations among our viewers. I loved seeing Sylvie from New York, Sam from Santa Barbara, friends from Sacramento, mothers with daughters (and vice versa), siblings, and quilters everywhere appreciating our show. One of my favorite responses came from my neighbor who is in a different guild. She said at their recent guild meeting, they were still talking about the show and how “congenial” everyone was! I did notice quite a “buzz” as viewers were discussing the quilts and the superb construction we demonstrate. Viewers were renewing acquaintances and deepening friendships. How does one plan for that?
All the best to each of you. ~Jane

Our 18th quilt show was great. I want to give a big thank you to Jane Strem and Becky Simpson, show co-chairs; our committee chairs; and our 150 volunteers for a job well done. I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful quilts created by my fellow quilters. There were some spectacular quilts. You are amazing artists. Congratulations to the ribbon holders. Thank you so much for the honor having me as this show’s Featured Artist. The exhibit space was wonderful in displaying my twenty-seven years of creating in fabric. I exhibited twenty-seven quilts and eight wearables. I appreciated suggestions for display, and especially the set-up and take-down volunteers. Quilting, Hope, Mindfulness, and Healing All Around, ~Jeanie
