DESCRIPTION:The San Francisco Quilters Guild has a long history of making and donating quilts to organizations in San Francisco and the larger community. This tradition expanded in the last few years to include Curbside Outreach – an opportunity to drop off completed work or donations and pick up any or all components for your next project outside of the monthly guild meeting. \nManned by co-chairs Jessica and Adrienne\, it typically takes places on the first Saturday of the month\, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, in front of Adrienne’s garage. You’ll find Adrienne’s address in the Membership Directory. There Is also a table at the in-person meetings the third Tuesday of the month. Details here.

SUMMARY:Making Fabric Bowls with Friends with Judith Epstein Williams
DESCRIPTION:Using the Goodness Bowl pattern by Jean Paccagnan\, spend an evening learning to sew these fun\, addictive\, and lovely bowls. The technique is similar to English Paper Piecing\, and it makes for a very portable project. These bowls are so much fun to personalize and make as gifts. Betcha can’t make just one! \nClass cost includes a $25 kit with the following items: \n– Original Goodness Bowl Pattern by Jean Paccagnan\, which includes master templates to make bowls in seven different sizes and Jean’s clear\, well written instructions\, with lots of pictures.\n– Enough Pellon Peltex 70 stabilizer to make at least one small bowl.\n– Selection of fabrics from my stash\n– Selection of polyester threads\n– Pattern for one small bowl template set printed on cardstock\n– Use of transparent templates for fussy-cutting \nIn addition attendees will need to bring the following: \n\nHand Sewing needles\nFine line fabric pen or soft lead pencil.\nFabric scissors and snips\nFabric glue stick and refills. (Judith likes Sew Line or similar).\n6 Wonder clips\nAny fabric that you would like to use or share to make bowls*. I’m bring a nice selection as well which you are welcome to pull from.\nCoordinating Polyester thread. (Cotton is not strong enough)\n\nNote on fabric: Get creative! There is no need to limit yourself to quilting cotton. Silks\, vintage linens\, corduroy…bold prints\, animal print\, stripes and plaids…as long as the fabric Is pliable enough to fold over an edge and adhere with glue stick. \nThe Venue \nWe are trying something new! Maren Larsen\, SFQG former President and member\, has kindly agreed to hold this workshop at her house. This helps us keep the costs lower but does mean that all attendees need to be ok climbing a staircase of steps up to her front door. She lives in Outer Sunset and the exact address will be shared with you once you have registered. \nTicket Pricing \nStandard: This is the base price for the workshop. If you don’t have any financial hardship\, we encourage you to support the workshop with this price. (e.g. you can go to a fabric shop on a whim and buy a few yards without needing to check your bank balance\, but might have to save for a new machine) \nEquity: Consider paying this amount if the Standard price of the workshop would create a financial burden. (e.g. you need to pause and check your budget before buying a fat quarter of fabric.) \nPay It Forward: Consider paying this amount if you are able to contribute to ensuring that all those who want to attend our events can. (e.g. you are able to buy new fabrics and tools as you wish without needing to check your budget) \nMembers can sign up here. Member class fee is $45-$100 (includes $25 kit). \nNon-member sign-up open January 1st\, 2027.
