Curbside Outreach
Curbside Outreach
The San Francisco Quilters Guild has a long history of making and donating quilts to organizations in San Francisco and the larger community. And this tradition continues in a new form while the pandemic prevents indoor gatherings. Called Curbside Outreach, it’s an opportunity to drop off completed work or donations and pick up any or all components for your next project. Manned by co-chairs Jessica and Adrienne, it typically takes places on the first and third Saturday of the month, from 10 a.m. to noon, in front of Adrienne’s garage. You’ll find Adrienne’s address in the Membership Directory.

Sandra Johnson’s Wearable Art
Sandra Johnson’s Wearable Art
Please join us via Zoom for a look at Sandra’s unique style, blending sashiko, boro, and worn garments with new, vintage and thrifted textiles, even old quilts. Members will find the Zoom link under the Members Only tab and will also receive the link via eBlast. Registration link for nonmembers coming soon. Sandra’s wearables reflect creative ways to upcycle favorite clothing, especially denim, as well as hand stitching that makes her projects unique. She’ll present techniques for improving and reimagining clothing to create personal, unique art—comfy to wear and to treasure. You’ll find yourself thinking in new ways about clothing and using and reusing fabric. Learn more on her website or follow her at Sandra Johnson Designs on Facebook or Instagram. PLEASE NOTE: Sandra will be teaching her Bomber Jacket workshop online through Craft Napa on Thursday January 14, 2021. See details here.
