Following on from the fun we had with the Lone Robin, Julia McLeod has a new mystery project for us. Beginning this March, she’ll share a simple block design monthly—A Chunk of the Month!

This project is meant for everyone. If you’re a beginner, you can follow exact measurements and copy Julia’s design and value choices. Experienced quilters (or rule breakers …  you know who you are!) can make the month’s block in any dimensions. You’ll find instructions posted on the website after each monthly guild meeting.

By following each month’s block instructions, you’ll accumulate a group of components to put into a quilt. Julia will provide several layout suggestions, but you can also choose your own layout, add sashing, coping strips, and more. Use any fabrics you like, whip it up for an outreach donation, or keep it for yourself. No two finished quilt tops will look the same! The project runs six months, March through August, followed by a big reveal in the fall. Stay tuned!

Julia’s contact information is in the Membership Directory. Check out her web site, too. She posts as juliamcleodquilts on Instagram.
