Welcome to the San Francisco Quilters Guild

The San Francisco Quilters Guild has embraced new forms of community while our usual in-person activities are on hold during the pandemic. Please stay safe—and stay connected with your fellow quilters—through these guild initiatives:

Our Tuesday June 21st meeting features Dana Jones sharing a wealth information about Japanese fabric designers and quiltmakers in her talk Indigo, Taupe & More. Free to members, $5 to nonmembersMembers will find the Zoom link under the Members Only tab and will also receive the link via eBlast. Nonmembers may pay a $5 guest fee and register to be provided soon.

Join Julia McLeod’s new mystery project, Chunk of the Month. She’ll share a simple block design every month, and by summer’s end you’ll have enough components for a quilt. Details here.

Kicking off in December, Community Built is both a free series of skill-building activities for silk quiltmaking and a way to contribute to our next Opportunity Quilt, the guild’s biggest fundraiser. Learn more and register here.

Check our Community Outreach page for four patterns you can use to make lap quilts for our 1064 Mission Street project.

Curbside Outreach takes place on the first and third Saturdays of each month (unless a stay-at-home order is reimposed). See dates via the Calendar tab, and click here for more info.

    • Sew & Tell!

Going forward, Sew & Tell will be featured at every other monthly meeting. The first Sew & Tell of 2022 will be in February. If you’d like to share your work, please email photos to Judith Epstein-Williams. Her contact info is in the Membership Directory if you have questions.

It’s with great regret that the guild announces that our much anticipated retreat has been called off for June. Walker Creek Ranch, our event site, has decided to cancel all group reservations through early September. QuiltAway organizer Jeanne Maysiak will share additional information when available.
